Polarised Netherlands on the way to unpredictable election outcome

Although the year 2017 is set to be largely characterised by elections for Europe’s major powers, France and Germany, this also applies to the ‘largest’ of the EU’s smaller member states: parliamentary elections are to be held in the Netherlands on 15 March. And predicting the results – and therefore also the course of the formation of the cabinet to follow – is more difficult than it has ever been.
